London motorcycle dealer recognised as best of British
Warr's Harley-Davidson has been officially recognised as the British two-wheel industry’s Dealer of the Year after scooping a coveted award at a national ceremony on November 27th. The event – hosted by MotorCycle News (MCN) was held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Hinckley.
The Warr dealership group was selected following incognito visits by MCN staff. They were shortlisted using a specified set of criteria, which included the range of services and extra benefits available to customers, support of local motorcycle activity and innovative use of web, email, PR and creative marketing.
The family-owned company was originally started by Capt. FJ Warr who set-up on the Kings Road in 1924. This makes Warr’s Harley-Davidson Europe’s oldest established Harley dealer. The Warr group was awarded for its loyalty and dedication to the brand by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company at a ceremony in California in 2004.
“We’re delighted that the hard work and commitment of Warr’s Harley-Davidson has been recognised with an MCN award,” said Harley-Davidson UK & Ireland Marketing Manager Greg Willis. “John and his team are passionate about the Harley-Davidson and Buell brands and have always provided an excellent service for our customers.”
MCN Editor Marc Potter added: "I think more than anyone, Warr's Harley-Davidson is responsible for opening motorcycling to a new audience. I don't think there is a celebrity in the country that doesn't know their name - which is a very positive thing for the industry. The dealership in general, the staff, the service and their interaction with customers is head and shoulders above the rest."
On receiving the award John Warr said:
“We are over the moon to have received this prestigious award. Our staff are the best and I’d like to thank them for their hard work and professionalism day in day out. I guess it says something about our business that 84 years after we served our first customers we are still going strong, still setting standards, still keeping our customers happy and being voted best in the country. ”
