SILK ROAD THUNDER – SUDBURY
Sunday 25th October 2026

It’s time for the final ride-out of our 2026 riding season (outside of our Remembrance Day event), and for this one we’ll be heading north to Sudbury in Suffolk – the UK’s capital of silk.

This historic market town on the River Stour has been associated with silk weaving for centuries and is also famous as the birthplace of Thomas Gainsborough, one of Britain’s greatest painters. Its historic centre, Market Hill and St Peter’s Church will provide the backdrop to the finale of another fantastic Meridian riding season.

Our route is approximately 70 miles and will take us across the River Thames via the Dartford Crossing – (free for motorcycles) – before heading through the Essex countryside and finally into South Suffolk.

We’ve put together a really enjoyable combination of roads for this one: motorway, dual carriageway and plenty of countryside roads, giving us a bit of everything for the finale of our riding season.

There will be a petrol stop for bikes with smaller tanks, followed a little further along by a comfort stop.

⏰ Please arrive before 09:30.

The ride briefing will take place sharp at 09:30, with departure at 09:45.

NO RIDE BRIEF – NO RIDE.

Please ensure that you:

• Arrive with a full tank of petrol
• Wear your Chapter vest
• Have a valid H.O.G. membership
• Have your Meridian or Chelsea & Fulham Chapter membership card

Ride Leader: Konrad Markwardt – The Pathfinder
Last Man: Bill Delieu

One last proper blast together to bring the 2026 Meridian riding season to a close.

⚡ Let’s make some thunder on the Silk Road! ?️?️
