TV's Henry Cole and film crew visited Warr's on the Kings Rd last Friday to meet up with Managing Director and historic Harley expert John Warr to discuss various topics including WL45 ownership and the legendary Sportster.
John talked Henry through the venerable WL Flathead engined solo range which spanned from the late twenties all the way up to the early 50's. H-D produced over 66,000 military versions of the WL during WW2. Other topics covered included likely purchase costs, history, ownership, model lineage and buying hints and tips.
After the WL discussions Henry moved onto the legendary Sportster range and John described the history of the model from it's earliest issue in 1957 right up to todays brand new 2018 models - with everything inbetween that's come and gone including race bikes, Cafe Racers, Elvis Presley, Evel Knievel, dodgy gearboxes' and even John's own (rather chequered) racing career!
The new series of The Motorbike Show airs this Spring.
