Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the organisation’s accounts payable and receivable ledger. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong understanding of accounting procedures and experience with various accounting software packages. The ideal applicant will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Duties
- Monitor and manage the organisation’s accounts payable and receivable ledger.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies or disputes efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions related to credit control activities.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts receivable.
- Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero to update records and generate relevant reports.
- Support accounts payable functions as required, ensuring smooth financial operations.
Skills
- Proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable management.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures.
- Ability to work independently whilst maintaining accuracy under pressure.
